The Vampira Show - rare 1954 television clips
As the ghoulish and campy Vampira, pin-up model Maila Nurmi was television's first horror hostess in 1954-55. No film of her shows exist except for a rare promotional kinescope re-creating her famous entrance and some of her macabre comedy segments. Here are two brief bits also seen in the 2006 documentary "Vampira: The Movie". In the second bit there is a slight glitch during her punchline: 'Everyone knows electricity is for chairs." |Misc episode of 'You Asked For It' #4|
Misc episode of the 50's TV series "You Asked For It", featuring a America's tallest man(?), largest star sapphire in the world, and a frightning attack by a python, among other things. Not "reality TV" but not quite a documentry either, falling somewhere between the two genres.

A Rebuttle to ''A Date with Your Family''
This is a rebuttle to both ''A Date with Your Family'', a movie usually seen as "an accurate account of 50's culture", and is also a rebuttle to the reviews who take it seriously. I hope that this video proves that ''A Date with Your Family'' is NOT an accurate example of 1950's culture, nor does it reveal "the horrible truth" of the decade.

Classic Television Commercial for the Kodak Home Movie System (1959)
A 1959 Classic Television Commercial for the Eastman-Kodak Home Movie System, aired 21 October 1959 on ABC-TV. This charmingly lightweight commercial also plugs the companies slid-projecter film, and the commercial features the voice of actress Harriet Nelson (which gives away the show it is from). Please forgive the somewhat sloppy picture quality.

Excerpts from 'The Magic Clown' (1950's)
Excerpts from "The Magic Clown", a TV series which created for the purpose of being a giant plug for the sponsor. These excerpts are among the few remaining examples of this program. This compilation of clips actually lasts longer than the original episodes themselves. No, I don't have the complete episodes these come from.
